What We Get Called For

Common Electrical Problems in Parker Homes

Parker’s housing stock has patterns, and after more than 20 years working in these neighborhoods we see the same four issues over and over. Here is what is usually going on, and what actually fixes it.

01

Breakers trip when the AC and microwave run together

Parker grew fast between 1995 and 2015, so a lot of homes here are running 100A or 150A service that was sized before anyone owned an EV. The panel is not broken, it is full. A load calculation tells you whether you need a heavy-up to 200A or just some circuits rebalanced, and the answer is genuinely cheaper more often than people expect.

02

You have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel

These turn up in the older Pinery and Ponderosa areas, mostly 1970s and 80s homes. Both brands have a documented history of breakers that fail to trip under fault, which is the one job a breaker has. If you have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel, replacement is not an upsell, it is the fix. We will tell you plainly which brand you have and show you the label.

03

Aluminum branch wiring in an older home

Some Parker-area homes from that same era have aluminum branch circuits. Aluminum is not automatically dangerous, but it expands and contracts differently than copper, so connections loosen over time and loose connections are what start fires. The fix is proper connectors at every device, not rewiring the whole house.

04

You are adding an EV charger, hot tub, or generator

All three are big continuous loads and all three need a permit. Whether it is an EV charger, a hot tub hookup, or a standby generator, start with a load calculation rather than a guess, because the answer determines whether you need a service upgrade first. Worth knowing: most of Parker is on CORE Electric Cooperative, not Xcel, so most Colorado rebate articles you will read online do not apply to your address.

Not sure which one you have? Call (303) 648-1934 and describe what the house is doing. We will tell you what it probably is before we ever come out.

How It Works

What Happens When You Call

We know speed matters, and so does talking to a real person who understands what you need. Here is the whole process, start to finish.

An Allsafe Electric tool bag set down on a kitchen counter at the start of a job
  1. 1

    Call or request a quote

A real person answers weekdays 8am to 6pm, and you can request a quote any time. Tell us what the house is doing and we will tell you honestly whether it is urgent today or fine to schedule.

  2. 2

    You get a two-hour window

Not a vague all-day window. We confirm a two-hour arrival window that works for your schedule, and we call if anything changes on our end.

  3. 3

We diagnose and price it before starting

A licensed electrician looks at the actual job and gives you a fixed price in writing. You approve it before any work begins, so the number on the invoice is the number you agreed to.

  4. 4

We do the work and clean up

Shoe covers on, workspace left clean, and a straight answer about anything else we noticed. If something should be scheduled properly later rather than rushed today, we say so instead of upselling it on the spot.

We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.

We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.

Over the past couple years we have been stumbling through the repairs of construction defects. Many of those defects involved electrical. Along with new defects, we still have some old electrical that was not made up to date by the previous subcontractor. Judd and the AllSafe crew have helped navigate and make repairs as we find them. It’s been such a relief to have knowledgeable electricians help keep our family safe and regain some of our creature comforts. We appreciate knowing someone around we can count on for help. Thank you for your patients and empathy for us during all this. We really appreciates good people. Thank you. The Black Family

All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.

Judd was great. I called for an estimate, they came right out, game a good price, i hired them, they showed up right away, did a great job, took care of my gear and my dogs, and pleasure to work with. Allsafe installed a new 20-amp line for my stereo and installed a whole house surge protector and of course had to fix some issues with my breaker panel because my house was built recently by a homebuilder that took some short cuts.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us

Have a question?

(303) 648-1934

Common questions

Will someone actually show up when they say they will?

Yes, and it is the thing customers mention most. You get a two-hour arrival window rather than a vague day, a real person answers the phone, and if something changes you get a call instead of silence.

What area do you cover?

We cover the full South Denver metro area, including Parker, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Centennial, The Pinery, Stonegate, Castle Pines, Franktown, Elizabeth, Elbert, Foxfield, Dove Valley, Aurora, Englewood, Littleton, Acres Green, Greenwood Village, Lakewood, Edgewater, and Denver.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Allsafe Electric holds Colorado master electrician license ME.0601023 and electrical contractor license EC.0101068, both verifiable through the state DORA lookup, and carries liability insurance. Every permitted job is inspected by the local jurisdiction, so you are never taking our word for the quality of the work.

What does it cost to have you come out?

A flat diagnostic or estimate fee, told to you before you book. High-ticket jobs like panel upgrades, EV chargers and generators get a real price range up front. We do not do "call for pricing", because you deserve to know roughly what you are walking into.

Do you charge for estimates?

Straightforward quotes are free, whether that is a ceiling fan, a few outlets or a fixture swap. A diagnostic visit to find a fault, or a detailed assessment for a large project, is a flat fee.

Can I request a quote online instead of calling?

Yes. Fill out our form and one of our team members will call you with an estimate, or email you more information if you prefer. If it's urgent, call us so we can get you into the first available slot.
